SKOKO: WE WILL PROTECT SRPSKA’S VITAL INTEREST

BANJALUKA, July 17 /SRNA/ - Head of the Socialist Party Caucus in the Republika Srpska National Assembly, Maksim Skoko, says he is certain that the Parliament will confirm with a two-thirds majority the BiH Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik’s statement that the conclusion on BiH’s official position regarding the continuation of the Komarna-Pelješac Bridge construction is very detrimental to Srpska’s vital interests.

Skoko says that Thursday's special session, convened over outvoting at Dodik's request, is fully justified.

"As for our caucus, we will support Srpska’s interest and the decision made by Presidency chairman. We hope other deputies will do the same," Skoko told SRNA.

He assessed that failing to form the authorities at BiH level and yesterday's outvoting of Dodik indicate that many things at the level of BiH are not functioning.

"In that sense, the authorities at the level of BiH should be formed as soon as possible," Skoko said.

BiH Presidency members, Šefik DŽaferović and Željko Komšić, outvoted at Tuesday’s session of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik, the Serb member of the Presidency, with two votes in favor and one against the conclusion on BiH’s official position regarding the Komarna-Pelješac bridge construction, after which Dodik announced the initiation of the vital entity interest protection mechanism.

The Republika Srpska National Assembly will vote at a special session on Thursday on confirming Dodik's statement that the conclusion on BiH’s official position regarding the continuation of the Komarna-Pelješac Bridge construction is very detrimental to Srpska’s vital interests. /end/vos
