ATTEMPTED MURDER OF ALEKSANDAR VUČIĆ FIVE YEARS AGO

BIJELJINA, JULY 10 /SRNA/ - Five years ago, on July 11, 2015, at the Potočari Memorial Center in Srebrenica, the assassination attempt of the then Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić has been made and the attackers were never arrested and prosecuted.

Vučić was strewn with stones and other objects, and the crowd, shouting "Allahu Akbar" /God is greater/, attacked the security in an attempt to reach Vučić.

After laying flowers on the central memorial, Vučić was strewn with stones, sod and lumps of earth from excavated biers, lighters, bottles and other objects, with swearing, general noise and shouts: "Kill the Chetnik".

Thanks to his security and members of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior Affairs, Vučić avoided the lynching.

Objects flew from all sides from the assembled mass.

Like many other cases in BiH, the "Vučić" case ended up unsolved in a "drawer" with the investigative and judicial bodies of BiH.

To this day, no one has been indicted, no one has been prosecuted, and none of those in charge of the security of the gathering and the person have been fired or resigned.

The initiative to dismiss the then director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH Mirsad Vilić was rejected.

On July 1, 2015, Vilić visited Srebrenica and talked with the then mayor and the president of the Organizing Committee for the commemoration in Potočari on July 11, Ćamil Duraković, about the organization and security assessments related to that gathering.

The attempted murder of the current president of Serbia in Potočari and the years of absence of any response from Bosniak political structures in Sarajevo represents a dark stain of Bosniak politics and the organization of a traditional commemoration already for five years. /end/bo
