TREBINJE, JANUARY 22 /SRNA/ - The priority of the Republike Srpske Power Industry/Elektroprivreda is the construction of facilities from renewable energy sources, which was planned in the energy sector development strategy, as well as by the ten-year development plan of this company, the company’s general director Luka Petrović said Friday.


Petrović states that the three-year business plan stipulates BAM 1.5 billion investments, adding that "Elektroprivreda Srpske" is currently engaged in five capital projects - Dabar Hydroelectric Power Plants /HPP/, Gornja Drina hydropower system, Bistrica Hydroelectric Power Plants, Hrgud wind farm and Trebinje solar power plant.

According to him, the emphasis is on the continuation of construction and completion of the Dabar HPP with an installed capacity of 160 megawatts; the main works are underway, the main exit section of the tunnel has been made, the entrance building remains to be built after the tunnel lining is completed.

"This work should continue with the construction of a dam in Pošćenje, the construction of a pipe from a concrete tunnel to the entrance to the machine building, and facilities with equipment and distribution plant, as well as a 5.5-kilometer-long downstream canal in Dabar field, Petrović stressed at the press conference.

He said that the construction of the Gornja Drina hydropower system, which will be owned by "Power Industry of Serbia" 51 percent and "Power Industry of Srpske" 49 percent, is of exceptional importance for "Republika Srpska Power Industry".

Petrović adds that for the third important hydropower facility - Bistrica HPP, the Republika Srpska Power Industry has signed a contracting agreement with the renowned Chinese company ‘AVIC’, the value of which is EUR 102, while the power plants will be built on a turnkey basis. /end/vos
