VOZUĆA - CRIME WITHOUT PUNISHMENT

ZAVIDOVIĆI, September 10 /SRNA/ - Head of the Association of Zavidovići Natives Zoran Blagojević has told Srna that members of the so-called Army of BiH committed ethnic cleansing in Vozuća, the Krivaja river valley and on Mount Ozren by expelling more than 40,000 Serbs from there, which is why the memory of the event must be preserved as a reminder to the future generations, and perpetrators and those who ordered it must be prosecuted and punished.

Blagojević called on the competent institutions to answer where are the 64 Serbs who were taken prisoner alive from Vozuća in 1995 by the 2nd Company of the 5th Battalion of the 328th Brigade which was commanded by Fuad Zilkić, who was subordinated to the 3rd Corps commander Sakib Mahmuljin.

Among the prisoners were Milenko Stanić, Milovan Savić, Milija Jovanović, Slobodanka Jović, Milorad, Duško and Miloš Pejić, Miloš Jović, Ranko Đurić, Čedo Savić, Savo Todorović and his son Živinko.

After the participants of the Trails of Exodus march arrived in the village Stog outside Vozuća, he recalled the war events in Vozuća, and the suffering and persecution of Serbs from the area of Zenica, Žepče, Banovići and Zavidovići.

"The suffering of Serbs has to be introduced in the calendar of dates important for Srpska," said Blagojević, who was chief of staff of the 4th Ozren Light Infantry Brigade.

Blagojević noted that 30 Serb villages were torched and 1,920 Serb families with 7,680 members expelled on September 10, 1995 in an offensive of the so-called Army of BiH titled Hurricane and Farz, upon direct orders of Alija Izetbegović, who defined a merger of the Tuzla and Zenica basins as a priority goal.

A total of 23,000 soldiers of the 2nd and 3rd Corps of the so-called Army of BiH, the El Mujahid Squad with the support of the NATO air force and quick reaction forces attacked three light infantry brigades of the Army of Republika Srpska.

A total of 459 soldiers of the Army of Republika Srpska and civilians were killed and 129 others are still searched for.

Blagojević says a crime was committed against Serb prisoners and soldiers in Vozuća without any punishment for the perpetrators and those who ordered it whose character was monstrous.

"The prisoners were beheaded and the cut-off heads had to be kissed later. Their limbs were torn, they were tortured with electric shocks,” stated Blagojević, pointing out that those crimes were documented.

Recalling that the former commander of the so-called Army of BiH Main Staff Rasim Delić was found guilty, and that a case was conducted against the 3rd Corps commander Sakib Mahmuljin, Blagojević asserted that it was small progress in the prosecution of brutal crimes against Serbs. /end/dš
