EAST SARAJEVO, JANUARY, 25 /SRNA/ - The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik has sent a telegram of condolences to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the occasion of a powerful earthquake in the east of this country that killed at least 20 people.


"I received with sincere sorrow and sadness the news of the earthquake that struck your country and in which many people have been killed. Please extend the expressions of sincere condolences and hurt wishes for a speedy recovery to the families of the dead", Dodik said in his telegram of condolence.

He expressed the hope that the consequences of this natural disaster would be quickly remedied, but that what remains permanent and sad consequence are the loss of human lives that can never be recovered, was announced from the cabinet of the Serb member of the BiH Presidency.

At least 20 people have been killed and more than 1,000 injured in a powerful earthquake of 6.9 Richter magnitude, which hit eastern Turkey.

The earthquake occurred at 8.55pm local time last night near the city of Sivrice, in Elazig province, followed by about 200 subsequent earthquakes. /end/bo
