BANJALUKA, SEPTEMBER 23 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Željka Cvijanović and the newly-appointed ambassador of Greece to BiH, Dimitrios Papandreou, have said that traditionally good and friendly relations are a good foundation to upgrade cultural ties and the existing economic cooperation and to implement economic projects.


Cvijanović and Papandreou exchanged opinions on the political and economic situation in Republika Srpska and other current issues in BiH and the region, says a press release from the office of the Republika Srpska president.

At a meeting in Banjaluka, they discussed prospects for boosting all forms of cooperation between Republika Srpska and Greece.

Regarding efforts to boost Serb-Greek ties, Cvijanović stressed the commitment of the Republika Srpska Representative Office in Thessalonica to promoting the cultural and economic potentials of Republika Srpska.

The Republika Srpska president thanked the brotherly Greek people for the unselfish aid they provided to Republika Srpska and the Serbian people during the difficult times, and cordially welcomed the newly-appointed ambassador, wishing him a successful term in office. /end/sg
