DOBOJ, June 17 /SRNA/ - President of Republika Srpska Željka Cvijanović stated Monday in Doboj the beginning of the construction of the Pan-European Corridor Vc in the Srpska territory is substantial and strategically important for Republika Srpska because it represents its development and connection with Serbia and beyond.

"Everyone is certain we will be able to build a motorway network by 2030 in accordance with planning documents. We are now up to 105 kilometres, and the plan is ambitious and includes 400 kilometres,” Cvijanović told the press after representatives of the motorway company Autoputevi
Republike Srpske launched a EUR70 million project on the first, 5.65km-long section of the Corridor Vc motorway between Johovac /Tovira/ and Rudanka /Kostajnica/.

She noted that this would cover the entire Srpska with modern motorways in the coming period despite the crisis and numerous other challenges.

"This too proves we are able to realise big things. The motorway is important for the life of our citizens, for the communication between our municipalities, business, tourism, etc. Without motorways, Srpska cannot grow. Every kilometre of a road or a motorway is important for Republika Srpska and its people,” said Cvijanović.

She noted that big infrastructure and strategic projects, as well as other ones will be left to the future generations and thanked the entity and local institutions for creating the conditions for road infrastructure, as well as for the gasification of Republika Srpska, a strategic project.

"I am proud every time we launch a project and witness its completion,” stated Cvijanović.

Representatives of Autoputevi and a consortium made up of Integral Inženjering from Laktaši and Granit from Skopje signed a contract back in March in Banjaluka to build the first stage of the motorway on Corridor Vc through Republika Srpska at the stretch between the intersection Johovac /Tovira/ and Rudanka /Kostajnica/, and the value of this stage of the motorway is EUR62.5 million, as specified at the time.

The motorway on Corridor Vc, whose total length is 46.6 km, will be built in four stages and the total value of the project from Doboj to Vukosavlje is estimated at EUR500 million.

Commissioning of works on the Bosna Bridge in the settlement of Tovira outside Doboj, at the end of the January 9 Banjaluka-Doboj motorway, was attended by several ministers of Republika Srpska, Mayor of Doboj Boris Jerinić, representatives of the contractor, and other prominent guests and numerous residents. /end/dš
