BANJALUKA, October 4 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Željka Cvijanović said on Friday that the purchase of the state-of-the-art equipment for new health service – robot-assisted rehabilitation of children at the Institute for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation “Dr. Miroslav Zotović" in Banjaluka was a step forward in Republika Srpska’s health sector.

“It is my pleasure that the equipment, bought by joint efforts and /thanks to/goodwill of Republika Srpska institutions, our citizens and donors, including the Serbian Government, will be in the service of children who need such medical treatment,” Cvijanović told reporters at the Institute "Dr. Miroslav Zotović."

She has said that the essence is in mobilizing the whole society for humanitarian drives, and not in the money since Republika Srpska institutions could secure money for such things.

“Last year we raised a record amount of money in the humanitarian drive ‘To the Brave Hearts with Love’ and had a good campaign by which we showed that this will be a joint result aimed at helping families and children. This and next year we will resume such actions to make life easier for families facing difficulties. If this equipment helps at least one child to make a move that he/she could not make, then everything paid off,” Cvijanović said.

According to her, the humanitarian drive this year also will be held on the religious holiday Detinjci.

“We think that this is the most appropriate date. We started a survey about the needs of our society and I think that we will opt for a special service – aid to our families, mothers and fathers whose children need constant all-day care. We will draft certain conditions for those who are attending schools with personal assistants or whose health condition is worse, and we will open daycare centers. We are talking with various associations, we have initiatives for Banjaluka, Trebinje and Foča, and this year we will try to enable daycare for such children in order to unburden the families,” she said.

A new health service – a robot-assisted rehabilitation of children was presented on Friday at the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation "Dr. Miroslav Zotović" in Banjaluka.

The state-of-the-art equipment worth BAM 1.5 million, raised in the humanitarian drive “To the Brave Hearts with Love,” was purchased in order to enable this health service for the youngest patients.
