BANJALUKA, MARCH 19 /SRNA/ - The Republika Srpska Police will, in accordance with the order of the Republika Srpska Crisis Staff, control the entry of citizens in the vicinity of all border crossings in Srpska, Srpska Police Director, Darko Ćulum, told SRNA.

"The police will control citizens to determine whether they have been issued mandatory self-isolation orders. In case they do not adhere to self-isolation, they are committing a criminal offense punishable by up to two years in prison, and a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of BAM 1,000," Ćulum warned.

He noted that all local police administrations are obliged to set up checkpoints in the vicinity of every border crossing in Republika Srpska, noting that this order has been in force since last night.

Ćulum added that police patrols will not interfere with the work of border police and Republican border inspectors.

As of this morning, near the border crossing in Kostajnica, there is a checkpoint of the Republika Srpska Interior Ministry whose members check and record persons who have crossed the border as part of activities to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The municipal police, accompanied by the municipal sanitary inspector and members of the Republika Srpska MoI, inspect persons who have been ordered to self-isolate and it was found yesterday that everyone complied with the measures ordered. /end/vos
