THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO PROVIDE EVERYONE A ROOF OVER THEIR HEAD

GLINA, JANUARY 3 /SRNA/ - Glina Deputy Mayor Branka Bakšić Mitić said that the most important thing now, for all those who lost their homes in the devastating earthquake, is to provide accommodation, because there are still people sleeping in meadows, in cars.

Mitić cited the example of a family of six from Drenovac with four children, who was placed in a caravan yesterday and, last night, they had a roof over their heads for the first time after the earthquake.

"Caravans are for coastal places, and it is cold here. The containers are warmer, and for that reason we definitely have to provide containers for everyone, because the renovation will not be so fast", Mitić said.

According to her, Majske Poljane is a village where Serbs, Croats and Roma live and whose houses were destroyed in the earthquake.

Mitić hopes that humanity will work for all politicians, and she also believes that this situation will be resolved in a year, because they cannot wait for 10 years.

She pointed out that that they must not allow that people do not have electricity 25 years after the war, which everyone had before the war.

"I hope that this tragedy will be a turning point, that the issue of roads and electricity will be resolved. There are children, not many, but if you give them living conditions, they will stay", Mitić told HRT. /end/bo
