REJECTION OF MOTION TO DISQUALIFY UZUNOVIĆ SENDING A MESSAGE THAT SRPSKA'S INTERESTS MUST NOT BE DEFENDED

SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 11 /SRNA/ - Security Minister in the Council of Ministers Nenad Nešić has said that the decision to reject the Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik's defense motion to disqualify Judge Sena Uzunović sends a message that the interests of Srpska, its Constitution, and its laws must not be defended.
Nešić told SRNA that this decision was expected and that he was not surprised that the Criminal Panel of the BiH Court did not meet the request of the President of Srpska. "If the BiH Court acted justly and were a judicial institution that instills confidence in all citizens regardless of nationality, the President of Republika Srpska would not even find himself in this court, and he would not be on trial for respecting the Constitution and the laws," Nešić stated. He emphasized that the obvious goal is to convict the President of Srpska and create an atmosphere of fear among all Serbian representatives, sending a clear message that they must not be disobedient and defend Republika Srpska, its Constitution, and ultimately, not even the Constitution of BiH. The Criminal Panel of the BiH Court has rejected a motion filed by the Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik's defense to disqualify Judge Sena Uzunović, the BiH Court told SRNA. The Criminal Panel issued a ruling yesterday, rejecting the motion filed by the President of Srpska's defense attorney Goran Bubić as inadmissible. The defense requested on October 9 the disqualification of Uzunović as the presiding judge in the case against Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and the acting director of the Official Gazette Miloš Lukić, who are charged by the Prosecutor's Office with "failing to implement the decisions of Christian Schmidt." The disqualification of Judge Uzunović was requested at a court session of the BiH Court on October 9 because she did not allow clarification on whether the letter from the BiH Prosecutor's Office regarding the statement of evidence had been delivered to the defense.
