UNCONSTITUTIONAL PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE VIOLATED CONSTITUTION, IMMUNITY OF SERB OFFICIALS WAS NOT REMOVED
BANJA LUKA, MARCH 21 /SRNA/ - The Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Nenad Stevandić said that the chief prosecutor of the unconstitutional Prosecutor's Office of BiH, Milanko Kajganić, did not respond to his letter in which he asked him to clarify whether the officials of Srpska had immunity or it had been removed.
Stevandić said that he sent a letter to Kajganić on March 3, in which he drew attention to the immunity of members of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska and persistent pressure from the unconstitutional Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which could lead to security implications. He stated that the officials of Republika Srpska were always taking legal action, while the unconstitutional Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina violated the norms of criminal procedure. "The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina violates the Constitution of Republika Srpska and the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The immunity of the officials of Republika Srpska has not been lifted and they cannot be held responsible for the voting and convening of the Collegium of the National Assembly," Stevandić told reporters in Banja Luka. He reminded that in Article 73 of the Constitution of Republika Srpska, it is prescribed that the people's deputies and members of the Council of the Peoples of Srpska shall not be criminally or civilly responsible for any procedure performed within the scope of their duties. "When I first responded to the summon of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I said that I would not be available until March 18, because I was going on a trip to Italy and Serbia. The first summon of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina came to me as a suspect within 24 hours and as such was considered procedurally unlawful. The second invitation came despite my notification that I would not be available until March 18," Stevandić said. He stated that as the Speaker of the National Assembly of Srpska and a legalist, he responded to every invitation from the institutions, including the unconstitutional Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, several times. Stevandić concluded that this is a projected crisis to disable the work of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.
