29TH ANNIVERSARY OF NATO BOMBING OF TOWER AT KRALJICA MARKED, SERBIAN PEOPLE DEFENDED THEIR HOMES
PETROVO, SEPTEMBER 7 /SRNA/ - The Serbian people defended their homes when they came under attack from NATO aviation, which bombed the telecommunications tower on the Ozren Mountain summit called Kraljica and killed five communications officers of the Republika Srpska Army. However, that sacrifice will not be forgotten; the truth about it will continue to be spoken despite the revisionism that seeks to portray Serbs, despite being victims, as aggressors. This was emphasized today on Mount Ozren,
On this day in 1995, Slobodan Milotić from Kaluđerica, Mirko Trivunović from Osinja, Dragan Savanović from Doboj, Sveto Kaišarević from Kožuh, and Željko Lukić from Čečava near Teslić were killed in the attack. Mirko's mother, Milica, told SRNA that she will be visiting the site of her son's suffering for as long as she lives and that she is outraged that justice has not been served and those responsible have not been punished. Dragan's mother, Danica, says that even after 29 years, she is experiencing very painful feelings, but as a mother, she feels the need to come. Mirko Aleksić /83/ recounted that the NATO attack on the tower at Kraljica occurred around 17:20. “There were nine of us. Three of us were outside the building and survived, and fortunately, another comrade who happened to be inside the building survived as well,” Aleksić told SRNA, adding that the Kraljica tower was destroyed after multiple air raids. Milovan Gagić, president of the BORS Presidency, has said that this site needs to be visited more frequently and with better transportation infrastructure. Ozren Petković, the Mayor of Petrovo, emphasized the need for younger generations to remember what happened in this area and to highlight the great injustice done to Serbs who were merely defending their own and were not aggressors. “They were on their land, defending their ancestral homes,” Petković said, emphasizing that it is both a duty and an obligation to ensure this site is not forgotten. Zoran Blagojević, president of the Petrovo Municipal Assembly, noted that shortly after the destruction of the tower, the suffering of Serbs from the Vozuća and Ozren areas started. He warned that the memory of the events from the Defense Patriotic War must be preserved for future generations due to ongoing efforts to revise history to portray Serbs, despite being victims, as aggressors. Families of fallen soldiers, representatives of veterans' organizations from Petrovo, Doboj, Brod, Šamac, Teslić, representatives of the Petrovo Municipal Administration, and the Third Infantry Regiment /Republika Srpska/ laid wreaths at the memorial plaque. On September 7, 1995, NATO aviation shelled and destroyed the telecommunications tower, resulting in the deaths of Slobodan Milotić from Kaluđerica, Mirko Trivunović from Osinja, Dragan Savanović from Doboj, Sveto Kaišarević from Kožuh, and Željko Lukić from Čečava near Teslić. The destruction of the telecommunications tower at Kraljica by NATO aviation was a precursor to the start of the Muslim offensive on Vozuća and the entire Ozren area three days later, and the completion of the expulsion and ethnic cleansing of Serbs from the Zenica region that had begun in 1992.
