KOVAČEVIĆ: US SANCTIONS UNFOUNDED AND SHAMEFUL

BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 18 /SRNA/ - Sanctions imposed on certain officials in Republika Srpska by the outgoing US administration are unfounded and shameful, which there is no meaningful explanation for, said SNSD spokesman Radovan Kovačević.
Kovačević says there is no evidence that sanctioned people did anything against the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution. "These sanctions are a desperate and cowardly attack on Republika Srpska," Kovačević said at a press conference in Banja Luka. According to him, the outgoing administration of the world's largest powerimposed sanctions during its last working day, attacking a little Srpska. "It proves Republika Srpska is still big enough," said Kovačević and added that the sanctions were imposed at a time of no possibility to rect. He has assessed that the new package of sanctions is nothing more than a continuation of the attack on Republika Srpska and an attempt to impose the story that Srpska was not founded as the facts and history say on January 9, 1992, before the war and before any illegal and unconstitutional referendums on the independence of BiH and its unconstitutional secession from Yugoslavia. Kovačević said that all those who were hit by the latest sanctions of the outgoing US administration did nothing against the law and the constitution, the Dayton Peace Agreement, and that these people are the pride of Republika Srpska. "All the people who were sanctioned - Rajko Kuzmanović, Gerard Selman, Siniša Karan, Danijel Dragičević, Goran Filipović, Dalibor Panić, Goran Raković, Dijana Milanković, as well as Pavle Ćorović, Radmila Bojanić, Nemanja Reljin, Siniša Dodik and Marko Gujančić did not withdrew under any threats to stop respecting and loving their Republika Srpska and the Republic Day," Kovačević said. He assessed that the outgoing US administration imposed sanctions on science and art in Republika Srpska, the Constitution and the Constitutional Court, the media and freedom of speech in Republika Srpska. "The sanctions against the officials of Republika Srpska were imposed against Serbs, Bosniaks and Croats, against all Republika Srpska residents, which clearly proves that regardless of what they claim, all Republika Srpska residents love Republika Srpska and its Republic Day equally and are ready to celebrate and protect it regardless of their national and religious affiliation," Kovačević pointed out.
