BUDIMIR: TRUMP'S COMING TO POWER - A SHIFT IN AMERICAN POLICY AND REMOVING BiH FROM THE FOCUS OF INTERVENTIONISM

BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 20 /SRNA/ - Professor of International Relations at the Faculty of Political Science in Banja Luka Željko Budimir has said that the world is eagerly awaiting the new administration in the White House and the inauguration of newly elected President Donald Trump, who is expected to bring significant changes to U.S. policy, and the most critical aspect will be removing BiH from the focus of American interventionism.
"I believe the most important development will be taking BiH out of the orbit and focus of U.S. interventionism, which has been perpetuated through the remnants of Bill Clinton's administration, specifically via certain diplomatic staff in BiH, primarily Ambassador Michael Murphy, who have been the main proponents of the fight against Republika Srpska and the ideology of a unitary BiH," Budimir told SRNA. Budimir reminded that the previous U.S. administration, led by Joseph Biden, was the main sponsor of instability in BiH and a key moderator of solutions, that is, in imposing certain things, contributing to the complexity of political relations in the country. According to him, with Trump's arrival in the White House and the State Department, a realpolitik approach will return, compelling the U.S. to act in accordance with the changed structure of power in international relations. "You cannot pursue a policy based on the ideology of neoliberalism, rooted in American hegemonism, at a time when the balance of power and competition between great powers are returning to international politics," emphasized Budimir, who also serves as the Minister of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska. Budimir believes that Donald Trump has understood this well and that this shift will be evident in relations with Europe and generally with Eurasia, especially with the countries of the Far East, which are becoming significant and major economic and political competitors to the U.S. The inauguration of the new U.S. President will take place today, starting at 18:00. President-elect Donald Trump has announced that he will revoke all of the outgoing President Joseph Biden's "foolish and radical" executive orders.
