BAŠEVIĆ: OSCE SHOULD HAVE REACTED TO SCHMIDT AND HIS UNDEMOCRATIC ACTIONS LONG TIME AGO
SOKOLAC, MAY 22 /SRNA/ - No reasonable and responsible person can see anything controversial in the law adopted by the Republika Srpska National Assembly, which abolishes the financing of political parties from the budget in Republika Srpska, Sokolac Mayor Strahinja Bašević told SRNA.
"The opposition in Srpska should demonstrate a greater degree of responsibility and more understanding for the real needs of the people. This law creates space for the implementation of important projects that will improve the lives of all residents," Bašević said. He assessed that it is interesting that organizations like the OSCE don't understand the responsible and serious approach shown by all those who supported the law, adding that confirmations are coming from the Federation of BiH about the need to take the same path and demonstrate equal responsibility toward the citizens of that entity. "This proves that Serbs and Bosniaks are not a problem to each other, but that our real problem lies with foreigners who are trying to profit from our disagreements and pursue their interests through those representatives of the Bosniak people who blindly carry out their orders," Bašević said. He says that in the complex relations and circumstances under which Republika Srpska operates in the community with the Federation due to the Bosniak inciting narrative, the tacit support of the so-called international community, and daily attacks on Republika Srpska and the Serb people, Srpska demonstrates that it is a leader and a driver of processes and solutions that are important for every person and from which they will see direct benefits. "The problem the OSCE has is not that Srpska initiates and adopts rational and constructive proposals that serve the general interest, but someone in that OSCE is bothered by the fact that what some fake /High Representative/ Christian Schmidt says or does has no influence on us in Republika Srpska," Bašević emphasized. He emphasized that the law is being adopted because it is good and because the citizens of Srpska benefit from it, and that it is truly shameful that someone in the OSCE fails to recognize that, just as it is shameful that someone wants to impose and normalize a situation in which a foreign swindler selects and appoints representatives of Republika Srpska, prosecutes and convicts those who don’t suit him according to his laws, even though they were elected by the people, and strips the local population of its right to vote and decide about its life, future, and country. "The OSCE should have reacted long ago to this creator of the constitutional and political crisis in BiH and his undemocratic activities, rather than telling the National Assembly and the elected MPs in Srpska what they should or shouldn't do," Bašević said.
