TRIŠIĆ BABIĆ: SRPSKA ESTABLISHED AS A FACTOR ON THE INTERNATIONAL LEVEL
BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 9 /SRNA/ - Acting President of Republika Srpska Ana Trišić Babić said that Srpska has been established internationally as a factor without which no decision can be made in Sarajevo.
She emphasized that Srpska has demonstrated its strength despite daily media attacks and attempts from Sarajevo to weaken its position. "Republika Srpska is today an indispensable factor in the region and recognized in Europe, the United States, Russia, and China," Trišić Babić said. She stated that Srpska maintains good relations with Russia, Serbia, Hungary, and the U.S., and emphasized that claims about the sale of Republika Srpska’s property and natural resources are false. "In Srpska, there are procedures for how certain matters are handled, and everything is very transparent. No one asked anything from us, nor did we offer anything," Trišić Babić said. She emphasized that Republika Srpska is respected because it has demonstrated courage, wisdom, resilience, and a sincere desire for the Serb people to survive in this region and have their own state. Trišić Babić expects that an agreement will be reached within Republika Srpska regarding the Republic’s interests and the red lines that must not be crossed for the sake of quick solutions aimed at appeasing and calming Sarajevo. Trišić Babić, a member of the SNSD Main Board, pointed out that the SNSD is open to dialogue in BiH and constantly calls for it. She confirmed that her name is being considered by the SNSD for the position of BiH’s chief negotiator with the EU, adding that things in BiH on this issue have gone in the wrong direction. "I believe that we will all take a step back and return this issue to its starting point," Trišić Babić told ATV. She emphasized that the "troika" parties do not want this issue to be resolved, as they have realized that their only electoral platform is to have Republika Srpska and the SNSD as their enemies, who are allegedly blocking BiH’s EU accession process. She pointed out that Sarajevo is also problematizing the opening of a new EU border crossing in Gradiška. Regarding the Reform Program document, Trišić Babić says that it implies cooperation with NATO, but not membership in the Alliance.
